Credentialing Support Program

General Information
PCAM's Credentialing Support Program (CSP) will serve Michigan coaches seeking the ICF ACC, PCC, or MCC credential by bringing together PCAM members with credentials and those member coaches seeking one of the above credentials through teleclasses, information sharing, and mentoring. Our goals are to:

  1. Serve PCAM members' interests in ICF credentialing;
  2. Increase the number of ICF-credentialed coaches in Michigan and actively promote their professional development, growth, and success;
  3. Promote ICF credentialing for Michigan coaches as a way to: 1) Improve the credibility of the professional coaching industry, and 2) Ensure minimum practice and ethical standards are met;
  4. Ensure that coaches applying for ICF credentialing are, indeed, qualified to pursue the credential; and
  5. Increase the number of Michigan coaching applicants who receive their ICF credential after applying.
The CSP currently consists of three parts: bi-monthly teleclasses, the resource guide, and the mentoring program.

Teleclasses
Every other month, two CSP Committee members co-facilitate our teleclass that addresses one or more aspects of the ICF Core Coaching Competencies. These teleclasses are interactive and educational, drawing on the knowledge and experience of the credentialed facilitators as well as the participants. The classes are open to PCAM members who are both credentialed and/or still seeking their credentials. If you have questions about the teleclasses, please contact one of the committee members (see names and contact information below).

Resource Guide
The Credentialing Support Program (CSP) Resource Guide was developed by the PCAM CSP committee. We hope this Resource Guide will provide PCAM members with much of the information and materials they will need to smoothly navigate the ICF credentialing application process. If you have questions about the information contained in the guide or about the credentialing process in general, please contact one of us (see names and contact information below).

PCAM Mentor Program

PCAM members who are actively pursuing their Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential through the International Coach Federation (ICF) are eligible to participate in the PCAM Mentor Program. Over the course of four months the participants in the Mentor Program will receive three group and three individual mentor coaching experiences for a total of 10 hours. The focus of this program is on the ICF Core Coaching Competencies to help Michigan coaches prepare for the examination process to attain the ACC credential. Qualified PCAM coaches who hold a PCC or MCC credential will provide the mentoring services. This project was inspired by PCAM's commitment to advance the profession of coaching and to reinforce and recognize the value of coach specific training and credentialing. If you have questions about the mentor program, please contact Grace Menzel (contact information can be found below).
